MFT June Release Countdown - Day 5

Hello friends!  I can't believe how fast time flies.  Can you believe it's already time for the next (and amazing as always) My Favorite Things New Products Release?  I love this time of the month.  It's always so much fun to see what MFT comes out with!

For my card today, I used the new Toucan Do It Set combined with the new Radiating Halftone Background Stamp.  I first started by stamping my background with the Radiating Halftone Stamp in clear Versa Mark Ink onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110 lb Card Stock.  I then heat embossed it with some clear embossing powder.  Once dry, I then blended it with a combination of Distress Inks (Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers, Shaded Lilac and Seedless Preserves).

I then stamped my bird onto smooth white card stock with Copic friendly black ink, colored with Copics and then cut them out with the coordinating dies.  I also added a white frame using the Single Stitch Line Rectangle Frame Die-namics.

Lastly, I stamped my sentiment with Extreme Black Ink onto a strip of white card stock and added it to the front of my card.

I Hope Your Day Rocks - MFT Weekly Sketch Challenge 387

Hello friends!  It's time for a new Weekly Sketch Challenge from My Favorite Things!

I love this week's sketch.  It's always so much fun brainstorming to come up with an idea that will fit.  I think that's what makes these sketches so much fun to participate in.  For my project today, I created a fun shaker card featuring the Jungle Vibes Stamp Set.  I used the 3 horizontal panels in the sketch as my shaker component.

To create the base of my card, I first stamped the BG Musical Notes Background Stamp with Extreme Black Ink onto a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of white card stock.  I then used the A2 Stitched Rectangle Die-namics to cut a smaller stitched rectangle to hold my shaker component.  To get the shaker windows, I cut this piece three times with one of the smaller dies from the Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle Die-namics.

I then blended some Distress Oxide Inks (colors listed in the links below) onto three different strips of smooth white card stock and placed them below each window.  I added some 3D foam adhesive tape and some Sparkling Crystals.  For my images, I stamped them onto smooth white card stock, colored them with Copics and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I used some 3D foam squares to attach them to my card and add some dimension.

Color Throwdown 495

Hello!  Today is my last day guesting for the Color Throwdown Challenge.  It has been such a privilege to be able to guest design for this fun challenge.  Keeping to just a few colors on my cards does not come easy for me, so I greatly enjoyed being challenged outside of my comfort zone.

The colors this week are Navy, Burgundy and Gold.  I used the My Favorite Things BB Party Like a Pirate Set for my card today.  I first stamped my images onto smooth white card stock with Copic friendly black ink.  I then colored my images with Copic Sketch Markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

For the shaker component of my card, I first diecut a window with the Snow Globe Die-namics.  I then added a dome shaker pouch and filled it with some Sparkling Crystals from and Buttercream Jewels.  I then added a frame with the Stitched Dome Frame Die-namics cut from a piece of Gold Sparkle Card Stock.

Lastly, I added my entire stitched rectangle piece to an A2 top-folding card base from the same piece of Gold Sparkle Card Stock.

Here is this week's color and inspiration photo.  Head on over to the Color Throwdown Blog for more crafty inspiration and details on how to join in on this fun challenge.  Also, don't forget to check out all the amazing projects from the Color Throwdown Design Team Below!

I Dig You - MFT Hits & Highlights

Hello friends!  It's time for a new Hits & Highlights feature from My Favorite Things!  This month's challenge is about featuring projects with magical creatures or to simply integrate the vibrant colors that those magical creatures create.

For my project today, I went with the fun little garden gnomes from the BB You Gnome Me Set.  When I thought of the transition from spring into summer and explosion of color, I immediately thought about these magical little gnomes and their gardens full of color.

I started my project by stamping my images with Copic friendly black ink onto smooth white card stock and then coloring with Copics.

I then used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

For the base (box) portion of my card, I used 1 piece of standard sized white card stock and cut two 5.5" x 6.5" pieces.  I scored each piece along the 6.5" side at 2.75" and 5.5".  I then turned them to the 5.5" side and scored each piece at 2.75" inches.  Following that, I simply fussy cut down each scoreline along the long side of the card, cut some tabs and then adhered the pieces together.

I added some grass along the bottom edges of the card and also along each of the inside shelves.
For the sky, I blended some Broken China Distress Ink with the Cloud Stencil.  I also added some patterned paper panels using the Bundles of Blossoms Bright Paper Pack.

Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment onto a strip of black card stock and attached it to the front of my card.

I hope you enjoyed my card today!  Make sure to check out the MFT Blog for some more crafty inspiration from the rest of the participating team members.

Have a wonderful day!

Yoda Best! - Craftin Desert Divas Troll Wars Box Card

Hello everyone!  I'd like to quickly share a fun boxcard with you that I made using the newly released Troll Wars Stamp Set from Craftin Desert Divas.  I knew I had to have this super fun stamp set when I first saw it.  Even if you're not a Star Wars fan, most of you probably know someone who is and this set is perfect!

I first created the base (box) portion of my card.  I have my dimensions listed HERE in a previous blog post if you are interested.  I stamped all of my images with Copic friendly black ink onto smooth white card stock, colored with Copics (colors listed below) and then cut them out.  For my galaxy background, I blended some Broken China, Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Inks onto smooth white card stock.  To get a starry sky-effect, I splattered some white paint over each panel.

Copic Colors Used:
  • Luke's Hair: Y21, Y26, E84
  • Skin: E50, E51, E21, E11, E13
  • Luke Outfit: E40, E42, E43, E44

I will be playing along with the following challenges:

Simon Says Monday Challenge: Inspired By A Song

This week's theme for the Simon Says Monday Challenge is to create a project inspired by a song.  I had the Star Wars Imperial March in my head the entire time that I was working on this, lol.

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Use More Than One Stamp

I used quite a few stamps on my card today (in fact, all of them from the Troll Wars Stamp Set), so I will also be entering this card into the Simon Says Wednesday "Use More Than One Stamp" Challenge.

I hope you've enjoyed my card today!  Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Dream Until Your Dreams Come True - MFT Sketch Challenge 386

Hello friends!  There's a new Weekly Sketch Challenge up at My Favorite Things!  These challenges are so much fun to play along with.

I used the Somebunny I Love Set to create my take on this week's sketch.  I just think that little teddy bear is the cutest!  I stamped my images onto smooth white card stock, colored with Copic Sketch Markers and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

For my background, I diecut a circle into a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of white card stock using the Inside & Out Stitched Circle Die-namics.  To create my starry night sky, I used another piece of white card stock and first masked a small circle (to create a moon) with masking paper.  I then blended this piece with Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire & Black Soot Distress Inks.  Following this, I lightly spritzed this piece with water and then splattered some white paint for the stars.  Once dry, I colored some details into my moon with some Grey Copics and then layered this piece behind my panel with the open circle and attached it.

I heat embossed my sentiment onto a strip of Midnight Card Stock with Detail White Embossing Powder and then layered it on top of a small strip of Vellum.

Make sure to head on over to the MFT Challenge & Inspiration Blog to see what designs the rest of the team has created!  Also, don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win an MFT Gift Voucher!

Painted Prints Card Kit - Day 2

Hello friends!  It's day 2 of the My Favorite Things Painted Prints Card Kit.  This kit is just gorgeous and so versatile.

I have a very simple card to share with you today.  I simply created my own background paper with the Painted Prints Stamp Set with a number of Premium Dye Inks (all colors listed below).

I then cut this piece out with one of the A2 Stitched Rectangle Die-namics and set it aside.  For the center of my card, I used the A2 Stitched Rectangle Die-namics along with the Smile Die-namics to create my shaker portion.  I used a piece of Sno Cone Card Stock as the backing to this piece and filled it with Sparkling Crystals.

I then attached this piece to the center of my card and added a few adhesive half pearls for embellishment.

Lastly, I stamped my sentiment "Thinking of You" on the inside of my card with Extreme Black Ink.

The Painted Prints Card Kit will be available tomorrow, May 22nd, at 9:00 PM EST.  And as with all MFT Card Kits, if you want one, it's best not to wait since they usually sell out within a few hours.

Don't forget to head on over to the MFT Blog for more crafty inspiration using this beautiful kit!  Also, leave a comment there for a chance to win an MFT Gift Voucher.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!  I appreciate all comments and questions!

Happy Stamping!

Painted Prints Card Kit - Day 1

Hello everyone!  I'm here to share with you the latest My Favorite Things Card Kit.  This kit is called The Painted Prints Kit and it's so beautiful!

I used a few of the roses with my card today as well as the free Vase Die-namics that is included with orders $60 and up.  This card was very simple to create as I wanted the focus to be on the flowers.

I used a variety of MFT Premium Dye Inks (shown in the links below) to create this fun little bouquet.  It's a bit difficult to see in the picture, but I embossed the English Brick Stencil onto the background behind my bouquet.

For added interest, I adhered a Scalloped Rectangle Frame around the outside of my vase of roses and then added a mix of Clear Round Drops.

This fun floral kit will be available this coming Tuesday, May 22nd at 9:00 PM EST.  Head on over to the MFT Blog for some more crafty inspiration.  Make sure to leave a comment there for a chance to win an MFT Gift Voucher!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
